Graphic Design & Layout

Below are two examples of my graphic design and layout work: one piece created for the Persistence Project as a Digital Scholarship Intern, and my work on the upcoming tabletop roleplaying game DISC-0.

The Persistence Project

The Persistence Project was spearheaded by Celeste Sharpe, Sarah Calhoun and myself in order to communicate best practices for digital humanities projects, since the creation of any project should be done with an eye towards its long-term stability as well as its short-term wow factor.

My role on the project was to summarize briefly the importance of archiving projects, help convey the issues that need to be considered when deciding how to do so, and then create an informational guide that could be easily understood by newcomers to the digital humanities.

A beginner’s guide to preserving projects.

DISC-0

DISC-0 is a tabletop roleplaying game based on the Powered by the Apocalypse system, created by Casey Lee-Foss and Murphy Nosanchuk. Its premise is thus: in a dystopian cyberpunk future, all conflict is resolved by epic dance-offs.

I served as the layout editor and graphic designer on the project, creating a cohesive design concept which channeled the core mood and themes of DISC-0, as well as creating multiple graphic elements which set the tone for readers.

Design & Layout

This short sample of DISC-0 consists of the title page, a sample character creation sheet, and a page detailing the game’s story and world.
